Big, really big

Published on

We've had a big first quarter at Consumer Watchdog.

We beat Google in court last week when the judge agreed with our strong anti-trust arguments and prevented Google from gaining a monopoly over digitized books online.

The previous week, we pressured Blue Shield into canceling its outrageous rate hikes, which totaled as much as 86% for some patients. Maybe they were afraid we would keep protesting at their headquarters in San Francisco because they agreed there would be no more rate hikes until January 2012.

And last but certainly not least, we more than doubled our community on Facebook and now have more than 11,000 fans on the Consumer Watchdog page.

Would you chip in $10, $25, $50 or $100 today to help us continue the fight?

Our goal is to get 100 online contributions before the end of the quarter.

Can you help us reach our goal and make a donation?

We fought Google because we believe they take first and ask permission later. One company should not have control over the body of world literature.

We fight Blue Shield every day because we believe Californians deserve a public alternative to private insurance that gouges them at every turn. We won't stop until our goal of giving an elected insurance commissioner the power to reject premium increases is the law.

We love our jobs. We fight corrupt corporations and crooked politicians on behalf of Americans everyday.

But we can’t do it without your help. Google, Blue Shield, Mercury Insurance, these companies have deep pockets.

Would you chip in $10, $25, $50 or $100 today to help us continue the fight?

Our goal is to get 100 online contributions before the end of the quarter.

Can you help us reach our goal and make a donation?

Thank you for being a member of our community and your continued support.
