Stop Insurance Companies from Spying On Your Car

AB 2800 would let insurance companies require you to put high-tech spyware in your car, or pay higher insurance rates.
With a black box in our cars, insurers can track when we drive, where we go, and how long it takes us to get there. Sponsors say the bill is about getting people to drive less. But AB 2800 just lets companies charge customers more for refusing to give up their privacy.
We doubt state legislators would install GPS monitors in their cars so we can follow where they drive. They shouldn't force Californians to give up our privacy either.
