Blue Cross Settlement: Here’s What You Need to Know

Published on

Today Consumer Watchdog announced a settlement in our class action lawsuit against Anthem Blue Cross of California.

The settlement provides relief from the "Death Spiral"–the apt industry term for what happens when a health insurer “closes” certain health coverage policies to new customers, and later raises rates to those remaining in the closed policy, often forcing them into lower benefit and higher dedutible coverage.

Read Consumer Watchdog's press release announcing the lawsuit and summarizing the terms of the settlement.

Visit the official settlement website to download key documents, including the "settlement notice" describing your rights and benefits under the settlement, and a list of commonly asked questions.
