GROUP POLICIES

Published on

You can negotiate a low-cost group insurance policy for your automobile, home or business.

Big policyholders (large corporations, for example) have always been able to negotiate discounted policies. Proposition 103 allows individual consumers to band together to negotiate group policies.

Original Text of Proposition 103:

Group Insurance Plans
1861.12. Any insurer may issue any insurance coverage on a group plan, without restriction as to the purpose of the group, occupation or type of group. Group insurance rates shall not be considered to be unfairly discriminatory, if they are averaged broadly among persons insured under the group plan.

No changes to the original text of this provision have been enacted.
