The governor once again has chicken on his tail.
Students and teachers rallied in San Diego this weekend to protest Governor Schwarzenegger’s proposed budget, including $4.4 billion in cuts to education spending. In the San Diego Union Tribune:
Many teachers who participated in yesterday’s protest have received
layoff notices from their various school districts, including
fourth-grade teacher Ben Champion, who wore a bright-yellow chicken
suit with a sign that read, “This is Fowl.”
This isn’t the first time a chicken tried to call out the governor: ‘Chicken Arnold’ challenged him in 2005 when he was dogged by students, teachers, nurses, workers and firefighters protesting against his ultimately rejected ballot propositions at a costly extra election. Here’s what ‘Chicken Arnold’ had to say to the gov then. The public’s disappointment in 2005 mirrors his falling approval rating now, down to 44% according to the latest PPIC poll.
