Why I Support Prop 45: 1000% Rate Hike – Can’t Retire

"I am 57 years old and was going to retire at 60 but I cannot because the cost of my health insurance is so high."

I have had Blue Cross Health Insurance since 1997 for my family.  When I started it cost $234 per month and now it is $2386 per month (10 times as much).  I am 57 years old and was going to retire at 60 but I cannot because the cost of my health insurance is so high.  I never thought that the health insurance would be higher than my mortgage payment and utilities.  I really do not know how I will be able to pay the bill when I am between 60-65.  I can only imagine how high the monthly bill will be when I get to that age and have no idea of how I will pay it.  I do know that it is going to be less expensive to pay the tax penalty and may have to cancel.
